The Savages - a 2007 Academy Award-nominated American movie (Best Actress in a Leading Role; Best Original Screenplay), written and directed by Tamara Jenkins. Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney; it was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival; in a limited release, in 2007 on November 28.
After drifting apart geographically and emotionally over the years, two single siblings Jon (Hoffman) and Wendy (Linney) must band together now, to care for some elderly parent (Philip Bosco). So, visiting their father up in his nursing home plus their father’s eventual death really helps them to deal better with their relationships involving others.
