1408 - a 2007 horror movie based on the short story of Stephen King, having the same name; it’s directed by Mikael Håfström (Swedish film director); starring: John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, and Mary McCormack. The film is PG-13 rated in America for thematic material like disturbing scenes of violence and terror, and some frightening images.
The film is about Mike Enslin (Cusack), a horror author; his career is based essentially on investigating possible haunted houses, rooms… although his repeatedly unlucky studies left him pessimistic and disillusioned. He receives an anonymous recommendation, a postcard that leads him eventually in New York City, at the Dolphin Hotel, which has the infamous “Room 1408″ – where the guests never leave that room alive. Interested yet skeptical, decides to spend a night in that hotel although Mr. Olin (Samuel L. Jackson) – the manager warns him quite strongly against it. And here, in this room, the adventure really begins… Enslin encounters lots of bizarre experiences… risking its own life, its own feelings, for his passion…
