The passage from our world to a fantasy kingdom of Stormhold is via a breech in some wall right beside a village in England. In the 1800s, the boy becomes a true man when he pursuits a fallen star, venturing through the breech, to prove his undivided love for the village beauty. That star is really no lump of rock, it is a maiden, Yvaine. So, Tristan, the youth, is not exactly the only person looking for her: three witches, with Lamia leading, want her heart for make them young again; and the dead king of Stormhold sons want her also because she’s holding a ruby that can give one of them the throne title. Tristan’s mother (the victim of a spell, plus a transvestite sky pirate) is assisting him. The great question is… Tristan will be able to win his true and only love?
